Defender reverse lights

This guy has a kit with a microswitch that attaches to the shifter so the lights come on when you put it in reverse:

Anyone know how the reverse light kit works that attaches to the shifter?

Depends on the one you buy. The kit I linked, you install the light at the back, run wiring up to dash, put the microswitch in the shifter area per instructions. Anytime you put shifter lever into Reverse, light comes on.

Other ones, you have to use a manual dash switch to turn them on/off.
