2019 Defender XT Cab HD10 Silver with rock sliders, fender flares, removable winch mounting kit, higher front receiver hitch, bed tool box, deluxe headache rack, dual side mirrors, gear grips by kolpin and soon to have battle armour 2" suspension lift and 30x11x14 rear and 30x10x14 front tires as well as a separate removable 4500 # rear winch.🙄

Just joined the forum and thought I'd say hello. I'm from central Texas. I hope to learn more about these machines and help add some of what I've done / intend to do in the future.

Picked up a 2019 Lonestar back in Februrary and have loved every bit of it so far. Since purchase I had to make it mine and add a few things to it. I have a lot of plans for this rig, but wont ever go real big on it like a lot of guys running portals and tractor style tires. I'll use it mainly for hunting and some trail rides with the wife and our two boys.

First thing I added was the Can Am glass flip out windshield, then found a guy that wanted to swap plastics. I traded my black plastics for the full set of camo. I do a lot of hunting in brush and figured it would hold up much better than the painted black. Some other little things I've added here and there:

-Kohlpin Rhino XL gun clamps mounted under front center seat

-Auxbeam cube led lights on back w/ factory matching rocker switch

-cheap amazon roll-bar led light for a dome light

-usb / volt meter plug

-Seizmik side mirrors

-STI Bronze HD5 15" wheels with some 29" Maxxis Carnivores and some 1.5" rear spacers. Tires are temporary and will go bigger once I get some S3 springs.

I have a whole slew of things I plan for the future mods and may eventually do a build thread once I get a bit more stuff done to it.

Your Lone Star looks great with the camo plastics! Your wheel and tire set up really sets it off. Great looking rig!

Thanks, yall. I have a picture in my head how its going to finish up, but baby steps to get there. haha.

Our 2019 Defender HD10 Lone Star.  Out in the high desert of Central Nevada.  This is end of the trail on a ride we took from out front door.  2400 miles since new last August and we love it.

This forum has already been a huge help!!

Ugh, I miss being able to ride right from my house! Looks like you live in a great place to really enjoy your machine 👍

Welcome and looks like your right in the middle of some beautiful country. Maybe one day i'll get to venture up that way.

Hi everyone from KenTennessee (Kentucky/Tennessee border) ~ newly purchased HD10 XT-P, still at the shop being modified.  Super excited to hit the woods and make some trails!!

Have some questions... going to use this as a hybrid machine so mods are more for the farm. The question I have is if adding a deluxe headache rack and bed risers will rattle and/or be a nuisance off roading? Or worse, prohibitive? Still have time to stop installation if so ... also, I don’t see much about the XT-P anywhere ~ anyone have any recommendations or what to watch out for? Hoping we made a good decision as we got what seems like a good deal ...

thanks ~

Welcome to the forum! The XT-P is all-new to me so I'm anxious to see some pictures of it when you get it home.

Hey guys,

I've got the 2019 hd8 and bought a universal cab heater, install is going well..just trying to figure out the best place to tie into the coolant lines...any suggestions?

Hey, from Mark in Colorado Springs.  I’ve got a 2019 XT Cab (Camo) HD10.  I use it for plowing my 318’ driveway with a 20% pitch in one spot. Plow, chains, dual batteries, etc.  May drag out an elk with it.  It’s a beast.  I tend to do my own work if I can.  Thought I’d share my MagLight Mount idea...  I appreciate a forum that’s Defender-dedicated.  Thanks!

Love that MagLight mount! Can you share more details on that?

Hey Dragoon - It's a 4-D sized MagLight LED light with a standard D-sized MagLight mount kit.  I got them both at Ace Hardware.  Both together cost about $44 out the door.  I used tapping screws (4) and screwed them directly into the dash flat section under the grab rail.  You could probably get a 6-D sized light if you wanted to - it would fit.  I'm out at night, in the cold, running chains... a light is always handy!  Looks cool too!

I'm not a Can Am owner yet, but I plan on getting a Defender soon.  I live in MN so will probably get an HD10 cab version.  Giving serious consideration to the 2020 Limited but the prices are good right now on the 2019.  I know the difference between 19 and 20 but when I read the forum and learn how satisfied people are with their 2019, just makes me think a little harder.  What are your thoughts?  Worth the extra $ to go 2020?  I'm glad everyone is enjoying their Defenders, particularly those that switched from another brand.  Stay safe

Hello,

New to Defender but not Can-Am. Have had several spyders in the family and past commanders. All were excellent machines, hoping this one will be also.

2019 hd10 cab model. Had a canvas top on one of the commanders but really looking forward to the hard top with cold Wasatch mountain winters. Yes i will ask a lot of questions, and hopefully I can answer a few as well. Thanks in advance ,2

Name 2dogbed,( one of the things that drew me to the defender was the larger bed for the dogs)
