wheel alignment

broke a tie rod got a new one i have 2021 defender HD 8 but i,am confused about alignment one place says tow it in but another says tow out 1/16 to 1/4

Pretty much straight ahead 0+/- 0.19 inches from the shop manual.

Just aligned mine recently, did it mainly by eyesight. I tried it both toe in and out. On the trail it didn’t really matter which way. Toe out the steering gets twitchy. Toe in approximately 1/4” it drives nice and straight down the road.
