Tracks- Backcountry LT VS 360 LT

New to the forum, had our HD10 XT Max for 5 months.  
We call it the DeFunder because of the $ being spent on it.....  

 I am looking at Backcountry LT tracks, and am about to purchase them... 
I don’t think I want the 360 LT tracks because of where we might go with this rig.   
I like the Backcountry for the 2” lugs and  deep snow ability. 
I do like the 360 for the versatility.  Cheaper and 2 yr warranty, too. 
Has anyone bought one style and wish they had the other instead?

Logging roads, frozen lakes and sled trails is where we will be.  1-3’ of snow.

Ended up getting the 360LT Tracks. 
Dealer recommended them unless I was trailering to snow line.  Backcountry LT need more snow to function, without destroying sliders.  
So I saved some $, and it will probably dump snow this year, and these will be put to the test!

Has a few parts from catalog added. 
-Front hitch mount, Corbin Horn, 10” Rigid Light, wind deflectors, Windshield with wiper, half doors, saw mount rear bumper, cooler, gas can mount, numerous gadgets on bed  etc  

going on this month:

track, heated seats, plow, roof liner and some more Rigid Lights, lol  

“and then that’s it!”  Said no owner, ever   

may go back to original plan of Backcountry LT  -   Waiting for dealer to confirm mounting kit availability.

I put 2500km on the 360 LT tracks that were on my defender hd10 xt cab last winter. It's amazing where they go in slush 3 or more feet of snow. Never had an issue and recommend them highly.

Glad to hear that they worked so well for you!  I was having second thoughts, and this helps to put my mind at rest!

I plowed out a Well Drilling rig on one of my property's last year with the HD10 and LT's with over 3ft of lake effect snow and couldn't get it stuck if I tried. It was a about a1/2 mile of off-road/ no road bed just through a pasture up to the new home site.

the instructions leave out some key parts...

the way the anti rotation springs are to be mounted at the front.   No picture!

I will see if I have photos.  Machine is not close by... I know that 
there is an instruction sheet that you have to download, for the final adjustment of tracks.  If I had access to it when I did the install, it would have made more sense.

There is another instruction sheet you need to download to set up the anti rotation arms.  I do t have part number but if you read the mounting instructions it will tell you the sheet number

Can you guys tell me what RPM and speed you are getting with your tracks? I am getting 5400 RPM and 22 MPH.  I have a collapsed muffler and wondering if I am loosing power because of it.

No idea. 
I don’t have the DPS Module (yet).  

I can get over 6000 rpm on flat hardback. 
 

i “cruise “ at 5500 
 

I think it might be around 30-35 mph please speed?

I am getting a DPS Module on Tuesday.   BRP website says 715004707 "coming soon" ... for two months. 
The 715004707 subs to a newer part number, which is 715007338.  ( Website shows its for ATVs, and its cheaper, but in doing more research, it looks like it is going to work)

 I am looking forward to putting it on, and seeing proper speeds, as well as steering effort changes.  

For those that have the module, I wonder if it allows the power steering to adjust to different levels?  Or does it do it automatically...  the 4707 said you had to have a button for the DPS to get the three different levels of steering assist...  Its not bad without the module, so I won't be too bummed if it doesn't do anything... the speedo and odometer correction will be welcome...

These tracks are quite good in the trails. 
We were in a foot of wind blown snow on the lake, then riding through a narrow trail that had been cleared.  And by cleared I mean the logs and trees were in the middle of the trail.   Went over the logs no problem... like a Sherman tank!
