Is it not like any other pickup tailgate? Drop tailgate to about 45° then lift the leftside up/out... Cables should be pretty clear... Hope this helps....Is there a quick method for removing tailgate on 2018 can am defender box?
Yup, AH2R is correct. The cables have retention tabS that flex so they can be removed off the studs without tools. Is it not like any other pickup tailgate? Drop tailgate to about 45° then lift the leftside up/out... Cables should be pretty clear... Hope this helps....
I figured as much... That's the way my 19 is....Yup, AH2R is correct. The cables have retention tabS that flex so they can be removed off the studs without tools.
Here are the cables and a couple of the hinge pivots.... Hope this helps... Can't think you'd need to pull the tailgate apart to remove it....I did not see any retention tabs on my gate. The outside cover of the tailgate had to be removed so I could get a wrench on the inside cable nuts to disconnect the cables to the gate. Then tip out until the gate would come out the slotted housing on the driver side of the vehicle. Thanks for the input, I will double check on that retention tab to see if I missed something. Thanks for the input.
Sorry for not sending pictures on first reply..I do have the retention tabs. So much easier if I would have figured this out before doing it the hard way. Thanks for bringing me up to speed.
I need the outside tailgate cover for a 2020 defender.
Probably gonna need to call canam brp... Not so sure you're gonna find an aftermarket skin... what happened to your outer panel?I need the outside tailgate cover for a 2020 defender.
