I'm looking to install fender flares on my 2020 lonestar.  I know there's full and sport options from brp as well as super atv has some.  Any experience or preference on these from the community?  Thanks

I went with the sport on my 2020 lone star. Big fan of them. I think the general consensus on this site is this for the differences:

If you run tracks, full flares are almost mandatory. If you ride in a lot of mud/snow I think the full flares could be good as well. It depends on your riding and what look you are going for. Since we don’t see too much water/ mud out here in the desert, I went with the sports. I like the the look of the sports too, just my opinion.

I have some pictures posted on my build page of the sport flares installed if you want to take a look!

Thanks for the input.  I live in the SE so we do see muddy conditions time to time, but again I dont go looking for it.  How far do the sports stick out for protection?  I'll check out your build page as well!

I would say they are about 2”-3” out from the stock fender well. Hope these pictures help!

No problem!

A little piece of advise on whichever ones you go with. There is a whole mess of different length screws and bolts that come with these kits. Lay them all out before you start drilling. Instructions were decent, but I drilled one of the holes too big in one of the areas and had to get creative. Good luck with your project!

Bear wears the full extended flare with an added flap up front... The rears work great... But the fronts are a bit narrow yet for a 32x10x14.... the added flaps were the best I could do in the woods. Its a rear seat carpet mat cut in half and fitted.... looking to replace it with a tractor/trailer mud flap. Rigid enough to stay in place.... yet flimsy enough to roll with the punches.... these worked great!!! NO MORE MUDDY ELBOW!!!! Could just use some refining....

I installed the fender flares and mirrors. I would definitely suggest both. I put both add ons to the test this Weekend and I was impressed with the quality and performance. A must have add on as well the flares make it look better in my opinion.

What kind of mirrors?  I have full doors, and would love a set of outside mirrors.

The ones in the pic above are BRP mirrors and fit right on the dimples of the full doors where you will secure them, they swivel and fold back if you strike something but are a bit pricey. 😉

To Rayden: Your unit looks great. I’d like ask what brand flares you have. I have ordered a 2021 Defender Limited & am trying to determine which flares would be best. Thank you.

Thanks Rick. I got the wider ones from BRP. Really easy to install so don’t pay the dealer to do it as it only takes about an hour.

Does the sports stick out farther than the limited doors?

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone bout the XMR OEM flares. Thinking about putting them on my 2022 Lonestar. Just trying to figure out the hardware.

I believe the Xmr flares are just the standard "sport fender flare".  Which means they aren't as wide.  To install them, they come with screws that just screw into the plastics.  There are spots in the plastics that the screws are supposed to go though, so, you do have to be a little precise when installing.
