External radio antenna

Has anyone put an external antenna on a factory radio..

I don't have the factory radio but I have a Rockford Fosgate PMX3 and I put an antenna on the roof and run it folded down to avoid it getting swiped off by a low hanging branch.

Greetings. I just installed a Rugged radio in my 2019 defender xmr with the hand held that plugs into the base unit which allows me to talk to my buddies with the same system. It will also bluetooth music to the noise cancelling headset. Great system. It is supposed to have a 2-5 mile range. After further review I think an external antenna would be best.
