You will need to tug fairly FIRMLY on both corners of the hood forward.... get some silicone and lube the little rubber grommets that hold it in place then flip until it clicks up... took me a bit to figure out also.... Hopefully that helps... I see you decided on the XT... Love mine... Bear is a two door... But thats all I need... For now anyway...I have a 2020 defender crew max xt and cannot figure out how to open the front hood to the tool kit. Salesman showed me everything but how to open it
Not where I take Bear... Besides, I like having ALL my tools in one spot and I'm pretty sure the rest of my tools (snatch blocks, turn buckles, jack, and real hand tools) won't fit under the hood.My rubber also has dried out pretty bad and looks like she is going to blow. I think the kit would probably stay there regardless
I don’t ever use the tool kits that come with these things but I’m sure when the band breaks I could wrap a rag or towel around it and it would stay put. I have that plus the winch controller in front hood compartment that’s it.Not where I take Bear... Besides, I like having ALL my tools in one spot and I'm pretty sure the rest of my tools (snatch blocks, turn buckles, jack, and real hand tools) won't fit under the hood.![]()
