My friend had a 2023 Can-Am Defender catch on fire recently, and I was looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience? Please let me know if anyone they know has gone through something similar to this.

I just bought a 2025 Can Am defender limited edition and unloaded from trailer it has 1.6 miles on it from dealership the thing died battery completely dead had to jump it with boost box sitting idling and thing started smoking from the rear passenger side under the bed inside filled with smoke raised the bed and the voltage regulator which is located right next to gas tank was on fire didn't have a fire extinguisher so grabbed water hose and soaked it until it quit smoking called the dealer and they are bringing me a new machine and picking up this one luckily I was able to get the fire put out before completely burned the unit I disconnected the battery both positive and negative cables

I have an HD8 thats doing the same thing. All new parts, still shorting the volt regulator out. Not sure of the cause yet

YESSS!! I had a 2023 HD9 I bought last August from a dealer here in Alaska. They were offering a ton of rebates and thought I got a great deal. Fast forward 3 months in October, it exploded in my front yard while I was warming it up. It had all of 10 miles on the machine. To make matters worse, it burned my RV and we lost that too.

Wow, that's incredible. Glad no one was hurt. Did Can-am do anything for you?
