I have a 2024 Defender HD10 XMR that randomly sprung an oil leak. I used the bike about three weeks ago however during that ride I didn't take any hard hits, only a little water, but nothing infiltrated the engine. Checked oil and looked brand new, cause it was. Brought the bike back home (3 hour drive on a trailer) and cleaned her up with no signs of an oil leak. Fast forward three weeks and I plan on taking an evening ride so I start to get her ready. This is when I immediately notice a giant puddle of oil under the bike.
The weird thing is there is not a drop of oil on my trailer deck and I walk by the bike everyday several times and did not notice the stain. So best I can gather is whatever failed part decided to let go over the past 48 hours while the bike was just sitting there. It also only leaked down to about half way on the dipstick.
I was able trace the source to around the front output shaft where it was mostly wet. I've attached a few photos.
I also refilled the motor with oil and then cleaned the area to try and get a better idea of what's actually leaking.
Has anyone else had anything similar happen and what was the final verdict. I've already started to take the thing apart but I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything similar.
