Plans are to have the best work and play unit I can have outa this thing.  I’ll try and post new updates and add on stuff I do to the machine along the way. To date I have installed

(middle seat gun clamps) I used some thick aluminum plate I had kicking around to make up the bracket and put some spacers into the bottom set of screws to make the clamps sit level. I didn’t like how it was angled down when I mounted it flush to the seat. Also installed front and back windows from can am  just the cheap ones that I’m sure to regret later.

Lights were another must to be added. To be honest I’m pretty disappointed With the lighting on this machine. Both front and high beams and also the lack of a reverse light. For the price this could have been improved. Used some ss to fab up a bracket for the rears. Drilled to fit in the upper door hinge location. I hate to drill holes in a new machine unless it’s an absolute must. Mounted a 12 inch to the xt front bumper. A couple matching toggle switches and fused and pow lights 100% better.

I have the same front bumper and have been looking for a light bar. Which one is that?

It’s a 12 inch auxbeam I ordered it from amazon. A friend has used them before with only good things to say. Reviews were also good. Think it was 29 bucks for the 2 4 inch and 39 for the 12 inch one on the front. That’s Canadian also.

Great fathers day gift from the kids this year a Dixie land horn. Good ol general lee. Didn’t take the kids long to find the button hidden under the seat. Install was pretty easy just making the Horne’s fit was a tad difficult. Wanted to keep em aimed down so water wont get inside. Ended up running 3 frontwards and 2 backwards under the bed behind the driver. Will have to change if I ever put a 2nd batt back there. Works and sounds great.

The final thing I’ve done so far I think is made up a cheap back bumper. Nothing great but will do till I get more free time. (Prob winter). I was just looking for a bit of protection nothing to tow or ram from. I made it fit with the tailgate open but forgot to consider the bit of flex that I’d get from weight so after I fought my mistake I had to hammer it down. Lol not what I really wanted to do but she’s good now.

Built a headache rack for the back nothing fancy but works good plus adds a bit of weight to aid closing empty box. Was t really thinking of the snorkels when I built this so once I get them I will not be able to use this. Or I’ll need to modify it.

Finished making the newest defender accessory. Was a fun build. Turned out pretty good. Was looking to buy something at first but not seeing much that mounts the winch plus still allows me the use of my hitch. Found a few online But most the winch was almost inline with or just slightly above the ball. I wanted it tucked up away as close as I could without mounting it right to the machine. Only downside to thisis I can’t dump the box with it on but no big deal. I wanted it to be removable. Going with a wireless remote so I don’t have to add another rocker switch to the dash and this is really only going to be on the defender when I may need it. Plus with the wireless I could put it on anything else add 12v and she’s good to go.

Back to the mods lol built a chain saw mount for the headache rack. Easy to remove or put on even with a saw in it. I use this thing for so many tasks I don’t like to put permanent accessories in the back.  I don’t really like the idea of clamping my bar in those kolpin mounts to secure it in place also not having the sheath on it just seems like I’m asking to damage it or something else. Around my property I’m sure it would be ok but to trail ride and adventure around I like to have it a little more protection

Thanks I’ll prob have to get rid of the rack this summer as she is getting snorkeled and it’s not going to work.  just easier to start from scratch then try and make it work.  If anybody is interested in it I might post it up for sale. It’s built tough that’s for sure. Might even include the saw holder as I’ll be building another back rack to work with the snorkels and that saw holder works great with the rack. Like it was made for it lol.

Ps the glass in it is from Madison square gardens arena glass.

Decided it was time to add some tunes to the buggy. After looking at my online choices plus what was available during covid I decided to make some custom pods. Been some time since I worked with fibreglass but they turned out ok. So far just the  4 kicker 6.5 marine speakers but will be adding a sub real soon.

Decided on putting a second battery in also so I can run the radio plus other accessories without the defender running. Then charging back up wile running. I’ll also be rewiring my rear winch plus possibly a work/spot light to run from the aux battery. Was going to go with the Odyssey swap out but decided on using the biggest marine deep cycle I could get into that spot.

I put it under the box behind the drivers seat. Same location that the can am duel kit goes. I just wanted to add a larger battery. I’ll post some pictures once if finished being wired up. Hopefully today

Got it wired up to just the the stereo and a duel volt rocker gauge. I put the isolator in a fernco rubber 3 inch boot clamped to end caps on both sides and mounted to existing hole in the defender. I wanted to try and keep everything out of the elements as much as possible. It’s got a few holes in the end caps plus at the lowest point to prevent it from holding water but unless submerged it should stay pretty dry and clean. Grounded everything directly to the chassis. Worked great pushes aux items wile the buggy is off and charges it back up with the machine running. I highly recommend the kicker km6.5 marine speakers. Not the cheapest out there but sounds even better then I was expecting and I was expecting a lot lol. Couldn’t find a recommendation on speaker box or pod volume size for them so I just winged it.
