I was able to get back to the CVT.  I used the removal bolt to punch the spring back in.  No issues.  Changed the CVT and all is good.  Thanks for the help.

That is a great idea to check the spring.  Thanks.  I haven't had time to check it out, but I will post a picture when I get it apart.

I can't get the release tool into the cam to change the CVT belt.  The compression spring is sticking through the cam.  This is blocking the tool from seating properly.   My question is "How should I fix this?"   Is the spring installed wrong?  Should I just get out the rotozip and cut it...
